Crazy stuff get stuck! (japanese commercials)

Have you ever noticed how all the wierd out of the ordinary stuff have the magical ability to get stuck in your head?  I think the japanese commercial makers discovered it long ago. If you have ever seen a commercial from japan televison you’ll know what I’m talking about, infact they are the wierdest thing of all!

Just take a look, I don’t think you will ever forget this for example:    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hxy9zOZXxYQ

first discoveries!

I just got through the first page of the textbook. It was talking about the alphabets. Apparently, in Japan they don’t have only one alphabet like in every other part of the world, they have four, four alphabets! One of them we all already know, the Romaji. That would be the one I’m using right now, however,  no one uses it in Japan, apparently. That leaves us to the remaining three. the Hiragana, the Katakana, and the Kanji. This last one is the hardest one but also the most important one. The first thing I’m going to study is the Hiragana, also very important.

I also just discovered that Japanese people don’t understand sarcasm! so, be warned you excessively sarcastic people! you! you! and you!

Hello world!

My name is Marco, I’m 17 years old, and this is going to be my Japanese learning blog.  I’m just starting the online textbook “Texftfugu” and one of the first indications it gives is to start a blog, well, here it is. Here I’ll be discussing my studies of the Japanese language and generalities about Japan.                                                                                                                I’m planning to move to Japan one day… I’ll see if I like living in it as much as I like dreaming and hearing about it, that’s why I decided to learn Japanese…  I guess I can’t go over there without knowing a word of the language… right?                                                        I often wonder what is it that fascinates me so much about that country. Every time the solution is way too obvious… everything. I love Japanese movies, food, art, music and the place in general so much that I can’t figure out why. It probably is because every aspect of the Japanese culture is so different from what I’m used to that at my eyes it ends up appearing magical.

If my english already failed me, and it probably did,  that’s because I’m from Italy. I feel like I should have started this blog in my own language but, I don’t know why, I felt like I had to write it in english. Maybe because “Textfugu”(my source of study) is in english… or maybe just because when I’m talking to the world as I’m doing right now I have to talk in english. Yea. That’s probably it.                                                                                               That’s also a good chance to get better with my english, right?

If anyone read this all the way to here, well, thanks a bunch and congrats for the perseverance!  As soon as I learn something I’ll update this blog with new posts!                                                                 Thank you, unknown reader                                                                                             Bye

Marco
